DO I HAVE TO STAY WITH MY CHILD DURING ART CAMP?
Artists age 5-13 can be dropped off and picked up at the end of the camp session. For "family sessions" artists under 5 must have an adult present to attend the session. If you have a child that is nervous about being left, please let me know you intend to stay ahead of time, so that I will have enough chairs set up.
CAN I GET A REFUND?
You will get a 100% refund up to 2 weeks before the start of your session. 50% refund up to a week before the start of your session, and no refund for cancellations later than a week before the start of your session.
WILL PHOTOGRAPHS BE TAKEN OF MY CHILD?
Any photographs taken at art camp will be of the whole group in a way you cannot pick out individual children, or will be "action pictures" where you can only see the artist's hands and artwork.
WILL ARTWORK COME HOME WITH MY ARTIST?
Yes! All artwork made by the artist goes home with them. All artists will have the opportunity to complete at least two works of art in a 2 hour session, or one work of art in shorter sessions.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM LATE TO PICK UP MY ARTIST?
Approximately 5-10 minutes after the designated pick up time you will get a "check in" call. I understand traffic and unexpected events may occur, so I give a 15 minute grace period. After the 15 minute grace period you will be sent a pay link adding up to $5 for each additional 10 minutes late. If this link is not paid, you will not be allowed to register for future camps. So if you are 15 minutes late, there is no charge. 16-25 minutes late will incur a $5 fee, 26-35 minutes late will incur a $10 fee, and 36-45 minutes late will incur a $15 fee, and so on.

WATERCOLOR PAINTING
Watercolor paint is a type of paint where water must be added to the dry pigment (color) before it can be used. Watercolor dries fairly quickly. It washes easily off the skin, but can stain fabrics.
COLLAGE
Collage includes cutting different materials, arranging those elements to create a design, and pasting the elements down to create a work of art. This type of session will require the use of scissors and glue.
WEAVING
Due to the complexity of this medium, these sessions are for ages 8+. Weaving is a process that creates a "fabric" artwork by interlacing a set of yarns over and under a separate stationary set of yarns.
TEMPERA PAINTING
Sessions may use two kinds of tempera paint. The first type is liquid tempera, which is a washable paint that is easy to mix and ready to use straight out of the bottle. When used in light layers, this paint dries relatively quickly. The second type is tempera cakes. Water must be added to the tempera cakes in order to use them to paint. This paint dries very quickly, but has a chalky texture once dry.
PRINTMAKING
Due to the complexity of this medium, these sessions are for ages 8+. Sessions may include Gel Printing, or Styrofoam block printing. The process of gel printing is easy as the paint is put on the gel surface, spread out with a brayer then a variety of textures can be added before transferring the resulting image to paper. This process creates multiple different prints. The process of block printing includes carving an image into styrofoam using a pencil, then covering the styrofoam with paint/ink to then transfer the image to paper. This process results in the creation of prints with the same image that differ only in the ink color and paper color.
